What Every Target of Workplace Bullying Needs to Know

My 13-Year-Old Daughter Is Being Bullied and the School Downplays the Abuse

My 13-year-old daughter has experienced relational, reactive, and cyberbullying. She attends an all-girls private school.

Several alarming matters were brought to our attention regarding inappropriate material, inappropriate behaviors, and dangerous behavior my daughter was exposed to. When we tried to address it, several girls targeted my daughter by slandering her name, spreading vicious lies about her, and recruiting dozens of girls to hate and alienate her. The social aggression became so toxic that she was afraid to go to school. It was so upsetting that she couldn’t sleep, she vomited due to nerves, and couldn’t learn or focus.

This has all been downplayed and the head of the school’s daughter befriended the main bully. The head of the school’s daughter listed the main bully as one of five favorite people ever on Snapchat.

I’m at a loss. I’m afraid to send her back to that school in the fall but starting anew at a different school is also stressful.

I honestly don’t know what to do.
