What Every Target of Workplace Bullying Needs to Know

Serious Threats

My son is in the fourth grade and yesterday a classmate told him at lunch that he was going to shoot my son between the eyes with a pistol and in the side of the head with a shot gun. His exact words to my son!!

I was not notified by the school even though the mother of the other child was called and spoken to about the situation. I only found out last night when my son told me himself.

My husband contacted the school around noon today in hopes they would contact us first. To find out that the boy had only been sent home for the day and was back in class with my son today seriously upset us.

We have since contacted our board of education and they are supposed to be getting back to us tomorrow. I just want to know why it wasn't taking more seriously and what I should expect the school to do.

Thanks.

A time of great darkness
by: Rosie from Kansas

I am no longer shocked when proper protocol is not followed to stop such ugly bulling. Two days ago in a Wichita grocery store parents were pushing two small girls, about 3 and 4 in a cart while shopping.

The one about 3 caught my eye so I smiled at her. She burst out, "I hate you. I don't like you. I hate you." I was taken aback by such ugly words spewing out of the mouth of a babe.

I smiled at her and said kindly, "I don't hate you. I like you. I want to be kind to you, not hate you." She burst out again, "I hate you. I don't like you." The parents only grinned at "how cute" she was.

I repeated what I had told her. The mother finally said, "That's not nice. Don't talk to the lady that way."

Dad only grinned like it was free entertainment.

What on earth have we come during this time of great darkness and evil that covers the world that even tiny children already know how to hate?
