I expressed my opinion regarding a restructuring in a meeting where administrator, union representatives and staff were present. I was concerned that the powers in charge were moving too quickly in terms of reducing staff and that patient care would be compromised.
My chairman called me on a cell phone, reprimanded me and without my knowledge, placed a letter in my file stating that I was insubordinate and if it happened again I would be terminated (after a stellar record of professionalism for 29 years in same hospital).
