My Child Is Scared To Go To School And Face The Bullying

It all started in third grade for my son, he started get picked on by some of the children at school. I talked to my son on how he should deal with it. I told him not to let it get under his skin. It worked at first but when he went to fifth grade the name calling get worse the children started to hit and kick, punch and rip his clothes while riding the school bus so I went to the school and talked with the teacher and it helped for a little while but now my son is in the seventh grade and the bullying has gotten worse to the point he doesn't want to go to school at all. I let the school know that my son is being bullied while at the school and the school keeps telling me they will handle it but nothing has changed. My child is scared to go to school and face the bullying. What should I do. Please help!
